DETAILS:
Day 1: HANOI – NIGHT TRAIN TO LAO CAI
The tour guide will pick up you from your hotel this evening and escort you to Hanoi station to catch the overnight train from Hanoi to Lao Cai province, close to Chinese border. O/N on train. No meals provided
Day 2: LAO CAI – SAPA (B, L, D)
Arrive Lao Cai station in the early morning. Your private vehicle is waiting at the station to take you to Sapa (35km mountainous road from Lao Cai). After breakfast, leave your luggage at the hotel to walk around this former French hill station town. Later we visit the market and walk up Ham Rong hill for some good panoramic views of Sapa town and the surrounding valleys and also to warm up for your next days. Dinner and O/N Sapa.
Day 3: SAPA – FOREST first CAMP at 2,000 Elevation (B, L, D)
Depart with your guide and porters early and go downhill thru the H’mong village near Cat Cat stream and cross Linh Ho River , bamboo forests and villages of the hill tribal people before reaching the camp. The camp is on the elevation of 2,000m. Dinner will be prepared by the cook by a camp fire while the nocturnal sounds of the forest offer an exotic soundtrack in the background. O/N at the Forest camp.
Day 4: FOREST sencond CAMP at 2,400 Elevation (B, L, D)
Today we continue our ascent as we climb approximately 400m before setting up our second camp with the help of our porters. O/N at the Forest Camp.
Day 5: FOREST CAMP – FANSIPAN PEAK 3,143m (B, L, D)
After breakfast continue onwards to higher elevation where the forest gives way to huge groves of bamboo and up to a ridge at 2,900m that offers breath-taking views over Sapa valley. After about 5-6 hours climbing up and downhill on winding roads, you will reach the elevation 3,143m, the top of Inchochina. Congratulations! You’ve got it! From this Highest Point of Vietnam there are stunning views to to the North and to the West. Have a rest before descending back down to the Base Camp (2,400m) for the night. O/N at the Base Camp.
Day 6: BASE CAMP - SAPA – NIGHT TRAIN BACK TO HANOI (B, L, D)
Enjoy a morning coffee and the sounds of nature as the porters break down the camp and back to Sapa. Trek downhill is always more quickly. You will be arriving in Sapa in the afternoon. Check-in hotel to refresh after days on the mountain. Afternoon at leisure to hang around the town before gathering again to be transferred to Lao Cai for dinner and the overnight train back to Hanoi. O/N on train.
Day 7: HANOI ARRIVAL
Upon arrival at Hanoi Station you will be transferred back to your hotel. End of services.
